About

Pierandrea Micale, also known as Odyssey of the Heart, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Varese, Italy. Integrating digital media, installation, and material experimentation, including ceramics, painting, and 3D fabrication, their work investigates the boundaries of spatial perception. Born in Varese and trained in Architecture and Urban Design at Politecnico di Milano, their background informs a unique approach to structure and the emotional resonance of space.
Their practice explores transformation and identity through hybrid forms that oscillate between the virtual and the physical. Often manifesting as immersive environments, his work explores intimacy, vulnerability, and the tension between presence and absence.
Odyssey of the Heart is also the founder of Love is Louder, a global platform dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ artists and amplifying underrepresented voices through collaborative, community-driven projects.
Artist Statement
My work stems from a personal system of emotional processing.
For me, “Odyssey” is not a mere metaphor; it is the fundamental structure through which I exist and create. I view art as an inseparable extension of life, a necessary act, a continuous journey, and a declaration of love toward existence.
Drawing from my architectural background, my practice analyzes space not only as a physical reality but as a mental and emotional construct. I approach my artworks as internal architectures: thresholds where experiences are reorganized.
In this space, trauma is not merely represented but transmuted into a generative force, one capable of regeneration and constant reconfiguration.
This process is inherently queer and metamorphic. Within my work, identities, bodies, and forms remain fluid and in transition. Multidisciplinarity is thus a structural necessity: a direct reflection of transformation itself.
Alongside visual media, poetry guides the rhythm and emotional density of my research. Through images, spaces, and words, I construct fragments of an ongoing journey: not a path toward resolution, but a dedicated practice of becoming.
